Speedy Spaniard 10K

We ran the Speedy Spaniard again this year. One of these years we'll get all four of us in the race. :0)
Brook and I ran the 10K and Cameron ran the mile. Rachelle Sorensen and I were running buddies (I need to get some pictures of us from her). We were surprised at how fast we ran. We ran a 10 min. mile!!
I was excited to get back in time to watch Cameron finish his race.
Jill invited us to her house to have a pancake breakfast with all of Monte's runners. It was a fun morning!

Fish Rodeo

For our "Fiesta Days" Celebrations, they started the week off with a Fish Rodeo.
I thought Cameron would do it, but I was very surprised when Melissa wanted to as well. They went with their neighborhood friends (The Marshalls and The Bartons).

Here's Cameron trying to catch his fish (green shirt).

Here's Melissa trying to catch hers with a net.

Melissa looking at hers in the net.

They each finally caught a fish!!!

They each caught a winning fish. So they were rewarded with $10.00 each.
Talk about a "Great Catch"!

The neighborhood kids with their fish.

I was a little nervous about them catching fish. I didn't know what I would do with them! We decided the plan would be to put them in the bathtub until dad came home. After they caught their fish, I sat on the grass with their bags while they played on a few rides. When they came back, Cameron accidentally leaned back with his hand on top of the head of Melissa's fish. It died. Then a few minutes later his fish died. Obviously they weren't going to last long in those bags. O-well. We gave them to our neighbors who cooked them up that night and ate them. Melissa and Cameron weren't too sad, because they went home $10.00 richer!

Easter

For Easter this year, we made Rice Krispie Eggs. The kids loved putting butter all over their hands!

Rice Krispie Eggs dipped in chocolate and sprinkles

What's more fun than making Rice Krispie Eggs?
Eating them!

When we woke up Easter morning, we had 6 inches of snow outside. Of course you can't have an Easter Egg Hunt out in the snow, so we ended up down stairs. There were actually more hiding places down there.

After their Easter Egg Hunt. They also got the Alvin and the Chipmunks the Squeakquel Movie.

Melissa had a great idea for Conference. Her and Cameron made a Conference Tent. She got the idea out of the Friend Magazine. While they watched Conference they rotated between 4 stations. 1- Write down what the person is saying. 2- Draw the person who is talking. 3- Write down your testimony. 4- Write down where they are talking about and draw a picture of it. It was such a great idea that kept them entertained for hours!

Here are some of the pictures they drew. I love them!!!

Rewind -- Bear Lake Family Vacation

It's kind of funny adding this right now. We are already getting ready for the next one! We love getting together, hanging out, playing, and eating! It's a good thing we love our family.

A beautiful view outside our cabin

Our Family

The "Boys" went for a ride. They were gone so long we started to wonder if they got lost. They weren't lost, they were out having fun. Can't you tell by how clean they are!

The cabin had a fun trail around it for everyone to ride on. They spent hours outside riding around.

Brook convinced my mom to go for a ride. He tricked her so he could scare her. I think she secretly had fun!

Kailey is so cute!

Derrick loved the sand!

Rewind -- Softball/Baseball

I haven't posted for a LONG time. I am going to do some rewind posts to catch up on a few things we have done earlier. These are pictures from May 2009.

Melissa played on a full softball team this year, where the girls pitch the ball.
She has enjoyed softball up until this year. With the girls pitching the ball,
the pace of the game is a lot slower. We tried to encourage her to keep going, but I think she is done. We have our kids at least try each sport to see what they do and don't like. Of course when the camera comes out, she smiles!

Cameron loves baseball!
The fun thing about this year is that Melissa's and Cameron's teams were both named "Stingers".
He is at a fun age to watch :0)

Now for Brook. He played on a city team this year. The crazy thing is that he was playing with a broken wrist and didn't know it. When he wrecked on his dirt bike, we took him in for an x-ray. The x-ray came back normal. He wrist still hurt really bad (can you imagine hitting the ball....OUCH) After awhile he went back in to get another x-ray and his wrist WAS broken. The first x-ray missed it. I'm glad he didn't damage it any worse playing softball!!!
His games were a lot of fun to watch!
